Project Overview

This is an extension to the mf-teknomachinery.com website which is a mail server for company usage. Company can issue new address for each employee that the company hires. this mail server serves as the mail server for a few domains with the help of virtual mapping.

Technologies Used

1. Virtual Private Server (VPS)

   The mail server uses VPS to host its services allowing for great accessibility and availability

2. Postfix

   Postfix acts as a Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) which delivers mail sent by users from the @mf-teknomachinery.com

3. Dovecot

   Dovecot is a mail server which handles all the incoming emails and manage those mails so it will be stored at the correct user's directory

4. Roundcube

   Roundcube is a web-based mail client that allows users to access their mails and compose an email to be sent to external mail servers.

Role

As the lead developer, my task is to make sure that MTA and the mail server is set correctly so user can send and receive email intended for with little to no issues. Provided with everything available from DNS setting and VPS SSH access. I was to make sure everything works as intended.

Key Features

1. Users are able to send mail internally and externally
2. Users are able to receive mail sent to their address
3. Users are able to use POP3 and IMAP server for receiving emails
4. Users are able to use email client such as Thunderbird and Apple mail as well as Web email client

Outcomes

The email server are working and able to receive mails for both @mf-teknomachinery.com and @juraganapartemen.com. Users can also access their mails either by using mail client such as Thunderbird and Apple mail as well as using web client such as roundcube.
